Crown and Bridge

A crown (also called a cap) is an artificial cover that fits over the damaged visible part of a tooth. Crowns are used to restore and preserve teeth that are decayed, chipped, broken, or cracked. Most crowns are porcelain fused to a metal coping, but there are full porcelain crowns available also.

A dental bridge is used to replace missing teeth in your mouth. Once a tooth has been lost, a bridge can be made (usually 3 to 4 crowns fused together) and cemented permanently so that you do not have a removable appliance in your mouth. This is idea for patients that choose not to have an implant placed to replace the missing tooth.
